Your information
A simple privacy note.
Updated November 3, 2026
Nacre is a personal publication by Rob Witty. This page explains how information is used when you read the site, join the email list, or get in touch.
When you join the circle
The signup form asks for your email address and, optionally, your first name. These details are used to send the Nacre reflections and occasional notes you requested and to manage your subscription.
Mailercloud provides the signup and mailing-list service. It receives and stores the details you submit. Its privacy policy explains its handling of subscriber information.
When you write to Rob
When you use the contact form, your name, email address, and message are sent through Mailercloud to deliver your note to Rob. Your details are used to read and respond to your message. An acknowledgment may be emailed to the address you enter. Contacting Rob does not add you to the newsletter.
Technical information and outside services
Website hosting and email services may process routine technical information, such as IP addresses, browser details, and delivery records, to operate their services and protect them from misuse.
The signup form loads from Mailercloud. Email engagement information, such as opens or link clicks, may be processed according to the mailing service’s settings. This site also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google to retrieve those files. See Google’s privacy policy for information about its services.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe using the link in a Nacre email. To ask about your information, request a correction or removal, or raise a privacy concern, write to Rob using the contact form.
Some service records, including records needed to honour an unsubscribe request, may remain with the providers. Their policies and settings govern how those records are kept.
